We support young people leaving care who have multiple vulnerabilities and needs defined as ‘complex’ and ‘challenging’.

Home Provision

We offer young people, a home, where they can live semi independently, receive one to one support, advocacy, advice and guidance.

Help & Support

The YRH service model and support approach is holistic and ‘wrap around’. Our way of working also compliments local authority models and methods i.e 'Restorative Practice Models' We support young people leaving care who have multiple vulnerabilities and needs defined as ‘complex’ and ‘challenging’.

Development

Our work is focussed on developing and building on young people’s strengths, resilience, accountability, ability to self manage risk, proactivity in assessing harm and capacity to form safe and strong relationships. We help young people to understand that these attributes will help them to thrive whilst living in YRH homes and once they leave. Our model also aims to reduce the associated risks to young people leaving care, i.e. social isolation, homelessness, involvement in crime, increased mental health complications, high attrition / low educational attainment, unemployment and poverty.

High Standard Homes

The high standard of YRH homes, reflects the exceptional standard of support that we offer and also, the aspirations, ambitions and expectations, we have of the young people in our care . Our Homes are built and renovated to a high - quality specification and meet the minimum standards of UK Building Regulations, in all areas of safety, fire safety, security environment and sustainability.

High Ethical Standard

YRH staffs are professionals, highly qualified and have significant experience and expertise in the field of work supporting Young People Leaving care, Youth and Community and Social Work. We work to high ethical standards.

Children Acts

We follow legislation and related guidance: Children ( Leaving Care) Act 2000 and related guidance and regulations – specifically Volume 3 Planning Transition for Care Leavers (revised January 2015) Section 2 Children and Social Work Act 2017 Children Act 1989 Related guidance on Extending Personal Advisor Support to all Care Leavers to Age 25, Statutory Guidance for Local Authorities ( February 2018)

The young people we work with have different personalities, backgrounds and experiences. In order to meet their varied needs, we work in an integrative way with them and combine a number of approaches.
